2026 golf drivers: compare the new head designs
A sourced guide to Titleist GTS, TaylorMade Qi4D, Callaway Quantum and PING G440 K, with fitting questions to ask before choosing.

Start with the shot you need to improve
The 2026 releases offer distinct ways to adjust weight, launch and spin. This guide compares selected manufacturer-published designs and specifications, not results from a MYCLUBFIT hitting test. Bring your current driver to a fitting and judge the full shot pattern. A new generation is not automatically an improvement for your swing.
Titleist GTS: stability, adjustability and spin reduction
Announced in May 2026, the GTS family comprises GTS2, GTS3 and GTS4. Titleist describes GTS2 as a high-launch, mid-spin design emphasizing stability. GTS3 adds a forward weight track and has a more compact profile with lower launch and spin than GTS2. GTS4 is the lowest-spin option and moves to a 460cc head, larger than earlier “4” models. GTS2 and GTS3 come in 8°, 9°, 10° and 11°; GTS4 in 8°, 9° and 10°, in both hands. Ask a fitter to compare the weight positions as well as loft before deciding that the lower-spin model is best.

TaylorMade introduced Qi4D, Qi4D LS, Qi4D Max and Qi4D Max Lite in January 2026. The standard Qi4D uses four movable weights and a 4° loft sleeve. LS is the family’s lowest-spin design and uses two weights. Max emphasizes stability with two movable weights; Max Lite uses a lighter overall head, shaft and grip package. Standard Qi4D lofts are 8° (right hand only), 9°, 10.5° and 12°. LS offers 8° (right hand only), 9° and 10.5°; Max offers 9°, 10.5° and 12°; Max Lite offers 10.5° and 12°. Test the actual build weight and settings rather than choosing from the model suffix alone.

Callaway’s January 2026 announcement introduced Quantum Max, Max Fast, Max D, Triple Diamond and Triple Diamond Max drivers. Their Tri-Force face combines titanium, a polymer mesh and carbon fiber. The company describes the face as designed to improve speed and spin consistency across impact locations; those are design claims to evaluate in your own fitting. The similar names identify different heads, so compare the exact variant, loft and setup rather than treating Quantum as one driver.

PING positions G440 K as a high-MOI driver with carbon in both crown and sole. Its published specifications list a 460cc head and 9°, 10.5° or 12° lofts, each adjustable by ±1.5°, in right- and left-handed models. Listed standard length is 46 inches with the ALTA CB Blue 50 shaft; several other shaft options use 45½ inches. That build difference matters when comparing contact and control. Check the shaft-specific length and test representative off-center strikes rather than relying on one well-hit drive.

Use the same ball and record carry, launch, spin, strike location and dispersion. Keep typical misses in the sample. Compare a stability-focused head against a lower-spin alternative only if both produce a usable flight. Weight positions, loft settings, shaft and playing length can change the result. Our club library also includes earlier generations: those remain useful comparison options, but their specifications and photos should never be substituted for these 2026 models.
